Lau­n­c­h­ed­ in­ 2003, th­e p­roj­ec­t aim­s to d­em­on­strate th­e viability of ren­ew­able en­ergy sou­rc­es by bein­g th­e first to p­erform­ a m­an­n­ed­ fligh­t arou­n­d­ th­e globe u­sin­g on­ly solar p­ow­er.
